zRestoration Renovation & Construction Projects
1 Coles Lane, Linton
This property was a grade II* derelict building that had been built in 1560. We restored the collapsed roof by introducing a new oak framework to support the original roof skeleton. We totally renovated the building using techniques such as lime plastering, lathe and plaster work, we replaced oak sole plates and restored the clay pamment floors. Great attention was taken to ensure that all modern plumbing and electrical work was hidden to maintain the aesthetic appearance in each room.
After finding some historic photographs we were able to re-instate the 2 dormer windows in the roof, that had been tiled over in the 1960's which gained listed buildings approval to restore the 2 garret rooms.
We were nominated by local historians for the Built Heritage Award in 2006 and won the award for the achievement of excellence in historic building conservation.
Old Ford Barn, Shelford
